自上年年尾Serrini【Don’t Text Him】推出後，一直想寫碟評最後還是沒有找到機會，如今就只好寫一篇短文來闡釋她這一兩年來的突破。經過這一兩年親眼目睹她如何在social media 吸納她的die蚊(Serrini的fans，現今幾乎所有新流行歌手都會給他們一個特別名)，看她如何在「迫爆大陸」，如何塞滿九展，你便知道Serrini真的成功了；而她的成功不僅在個人層面上，而是成功在香台indie文青音樂風氣上作出了具革命性的改變。
所謂的文青，在這三四十年來的華語音樂上，從來離不開幾個重點︰內歛、感性、真摰及避免極端middle of the road。由黃韻玲到陳綺貞再到張懸徐徍瑩，或香港主流中由林憶蓮達明一派到楊千嬅或謝安琪，抑或由AMK到At17或My Little Airport，這些通常會與文青扯上關係的單位裡頭，幾本上都share我提及的特質。而這些特質，都成為他們音樂主題的backbone。這個音樂主題，簡單來說就是失敗主義或underdog，這從來都是「文青音樂」裡頭重要的主題。
那Serrini呢，她也當然有以上大部份的特質及個性，然而，她卻有這麼多年來所有文青歌手都沒有的大嘴巴、big personality 及narcissistic自戀個性。這些東西看似與音樂扯不上關係，甚至微不足道，但這些正正是Serrini成功突圍而出的原因。她打破傳統文青的框框，以主流呃like模式吸納fans，台上以巨星方法及姿態與歌迷互動，在文藝界仍然以文藝及學術角度分享生活點滴，這都是Serrini的成功之道，在香港indie 界裡頭有改朝換代的意義。
她的不一樣，也與她聽的音樂有關係吧，正所謂you are what you listen to。她除了聽經典文青音樂外，也聽美國的rapper。美國rapper 的嘩眾取寵及大嘴吧，或者就是今日的Serrini的藍本。
以前像Serrini這種滿口英文又懶cute講gurl，刻意標奇立異的歌手，一定會被主流媒體打沉，被外界及姨媽姑姐認為是扮野造作，假鬼妹。時代變，今時今日，年輕人擁戴個人意志及敢於表達自我的歌手，尤其一眾主流歌手封嘴不敢說民生政治，Serrini的具個性又忠於自我，敢講敢做，很自然會得到喜歡文藝的年輕人支持。
她的音樂的作用也與上一代的不一樣了。以前音樂講求上盛，但Serrini 的音樂卻像demo 一樣raw。她的作品只是她舞台上表演的一部份，又或是她的個性的一部份，像。就算是Olivier Chong及Alok等製作的【Don’t Text Him】，音樂上的突破或創意也沒有太多耀目處，對於有一定聽歷的樂迷來說應該不會被音樂打動；但對年輕樂迷來說，專輯卻有齊他們不同時段不同情緒的表達，全部都易聽又有廣東流行的特質又有Serrini 的personal touch，已是這個年頭香港樂壇難得的好作品。
香港變，音樂也跟著時代變，心態亦要跟著一齊變，那才會有希望吧。
