相隔上一張【She Will Eat You】已六年，22cats今年終於再出唱片。Debut時22cats成員還不過廿幾，今時今日佢地都變了三十有多了。時移世易，起初覺得廣東話詞好難的22cats，今年回歸首兩支單曲則均用廣東話，你會不禁唏噓說一聲「變左啦」(先不談《電影人生》，今次只講《如果就這樣離開這世界好嗎?》)。
睇來今次22cats將會回歸guitar pop的界別，首支單曲《如果就這樣離開這世界好嗎?》就明顯有好重佢地鍾意的Sonic Youth味道，唔再係【She Will Eat You】時實驗full-band、較巨型音樂取態。
歌曲是屬於黑暗系的guitar indie pop (其實令我諗起瑞典Labrador的Starlet)，在爽朗的節拍上vocal則是充斥著黑暗到不能再黑暗的情緒，亦在副歌緊密的結他riff之中加強這種消極幸好。幸好當中還是有22cats的一貫無厘頭的幽默。其實，呢種「passive aggressive」或「消極情緒」，以幽默手法去表達個人、生活的悲憤以至香港社會、政治環境的控訴——其實正正是維港唱片幾隊bands的共同主題，由False Alarm到小機場到22cats都同樣背負著同樣的命脈，是二千年後香港本土INDIE音樂的其中一重要特色。
又諗返轉頭，其實22cats就正正係二千年indie scene其中一個「社交名字」，記起他們的debut的《All I Wanna Tell》便是數盡香港本地樂隊，而《p, they don’t care about your mastering》更直接將林阿p放上枱了。所以聽22CATS總會聯想起一系列二千年的indie名字。
不過，而家22cats比起debut 【All the Good People Will Shine】就當然冇咁lo-fi，呢支1單曲上明顯在製作上來得「專業」/分明/靚聲了。同時在面書亦見他們在拍MV，九月更有cd release party，看來這次22cats在這張專輯上整個製作都認真起來，拭目以待。
